11 – Number of consecutive playoff games between the Capitals and Bruins that have been decided by a single goal, including last night’s OT loss. That dates back to their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal matchup back in 1998, with the deciding Game 6 won by the Caps by a score of 3-2 to send them to the ECSF against Ottawa.
In fact, 14 of their 20 playoff meetings all time have been one-goal affairs, going all the way back to the first time they went head to head in the postseason back in 1990 (a four-game Conference Final sweep at the hands of the Bruins, decided by – you guessed it – a one-goal game).
