The Noon Number: On Point(s)

20 – Number of players who have had a multi-point game in a Caps uniform so far this season, most in the League (the Islanders, Penguins and Red Wings each have 19).

The Caps’ parade of multi-pointillism started in the first period of the first game of the season, with T.J. Oshie and Alex Ovechkin each getting on the score sheet twice, and has continued through their last game, with newcomer Anthony Mantha adding his name to the list:

The last time the Caps had more multi-point performers was 2010-11 (21), and the team record (we think) was set way back in 1979-80 (26). As for individual performances, Denis Maruk has the single-season team mark with 42 multiple-point games in 1981-82 (an 80-game season… of course, Wayne Gretzky had 62 in that same year!), and the all-time franchise leader with 372 is… well, who else would it be?
