The Noon Number: Braden’s Bounceback

.933 – Braden Holtby’s save percentage over his last four appearances, dating back to when he stepped in to relieve Ilya Samsonov in the Caps’ eventual 5-3 loss to the Islanders on 2/10. Since then, he’s faced 104 shots and turned aside 97, including a clean 12-for-12 in that relief appearance. His save percentage over that span jumps up to .944 at even strength (84-for-89).

Monday night’s loss was the first game of the four in which he gave up more than two goals or posted a sub-.930 single-game save percentage.

Small sample size warnings and grains of salt abound, but Holtby’s play of late has been a bright spot during the team’s slump.
