2 – Number of consecutive regulation losses for the Capitals on their latest road trip, marking the first time they’ve lost two in a row in regulation since dropping the first two of the California road trip back in early March 2018. They last lost two straight to kick off 2019 when they fell 5-2 in St. Louis January 3 and followed it up with a 2-1 OT loss in Dallas the next night.
The Caps will return home with a 1-2-0 record from this latest road swing; that’s their first losing record of any kind on a road trip since that early January 2019 run (1-1-1 overall).
Since the start of 2019, the Caps have played 52 games away from DC and have the second-best point percentage in the League over that span, going 33-17-2 (.654). Only Tampa’s record of 35-14-3 (.702) has been better.
