A look at a potent scoring touch from the Caps’ top blueliner

...the number of goals scored by John Carlson last season, tying his career high (set back in 2018-19, in 13 more games played) and tied among defensemen for the third-highest goal total... while of course leading that same group of defensemen in points by a healthy 10-point margin.

Despite leading all defensemen in power play time with just over four minutes per game, 13 of his 15 goals were scored at even strength - trailing only Zach Werenski in that department among blueliners. He also potted six game-winners, which led all defensemen and was tied for the fourth-highest game-winning goal total among all skaters.
