The Noon Number: Third Line’s a Charm

A look at a recent hot streak by the Caps’ third line

Eller leads the way with eight points (three goals, five assists) over that ten-game span, with Panik adding three goals and three assists of his own and Hagelin adding two and two.

Not surprisingly, that point total represents a significant improvement for all three players when it comes to chipping in offense.

While Eller has consistently put up the most points, he’s gone from 19 points through the first 40 games (.47 pts/gm) to 8 in his last 10 (.8 pts/gm). Panik has doubled his point total, his six points in January matching the six points he posted October through December, and Hagelin has ticked up slightly from .31 points per game to .4.
