Third period thread.

Plenty of action back and forth in the second frame!

Sebastian Aho got Carolina back in the contest with a momentum-breaking shorthanded goal, cutting the Capitals’ lead to one while they were on the man advantage.

Evgeny Kuznetsov struck next for the Caps, calling his own number and ripping a wicked wrister pass Mrazek to restore the lead to two.

But Teuvo Teravainen got one back again for the Hurricanes, gathering a loose puck in a crowded slot and turning and firing it past Braden Holtby to keep Carolina within one at the second break, 3-2 Washington.

Twenty minutes to go in Game 7.

Third period ahead...
