The Noon Number: Bounceback Braden

.930 – Braden Holtby’s career save percentage in playoff games following a loss, with a record of 20-8-5 (with three shutouts) dating back to his first postseason appearance in 2012. That number jumped up to .934 during the 2018 run, when he went 5-2 after a loss with just 14 goals-against and one shutout.

Last night also marked just the third time in 85 playoff appearances that Holtby has given up at least five goals, part of an overall sparkling postseason resume (at least on an individual level) – Holtby’s career save percentage of .928 is second among active goalies since 2005-06 (min. 40 playoff appearances), and his 2.09 GAA is tops in that group.

In other words, if the Caps are looking to bounce back from last night’s Game 3 disappointment… they’ve got the right man for the job in net.
