Capitals vs. Wild Second Period Thread

Tonight’s joyous hockey game was preceded by some very sad news. Josephine Laughlin, known and loved by many as Craig Laughlin’s mother “Grandma Locker,” passed away at 97 years old. Our prayers, thoughts, and deepest condolences go out to Craig, Courtney, and the rest of the Laughlin family.

The first period of this clash with the Wild didn’t quite have the…ahem…spark of Wednesday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. But with Michal Kempny out “indefinitely” and Carl Hagelin a late scratch with an illness, the Capitals would try to hold the line.

The two clubs exchanged just 12 shots in the first, but one of them was Jordan Greenway’s late goal. The right-winger danced around Brooks Orpik and Tom Wilson to dent the twine 1-0 after one.

Second period ahead…
