Plenty of action – and maybe a few tears – in the first period of this one!
First of all, Jay Beagle returned to Washington, and it was as emotional as you’d expect a good dog coming home to be.
But at least T.J. Oshie scored the puck (and himself!) into the back of the net, courtesy of a secondary assist from Alexander Ovechkin. The goal made the Capitals 1-0 leaders at the break, and Ovechkin THE ALL-TIME RUSSIAN NHL POINTS LEADER!!
