355 - Number of points the Capitals have earned against Eastern Conference opponents over the last five seasons, tops in the NHL. They’ve gone 163-58-29 over that span, outscoring opponents 781-590 with a 23.1% power-play rate (fourth-best) and 83.5% penalty kill (tied for first).

So far this season, they’ve gone 22-10-4 against the East, posting the third-highest point total behind Toronto’s 49 and Tampa Bay’s 66 (although both the Leafs and Lightning have two more games against Eastern Conference opponents under their belts). With 18 games remaining on the 2018-19 regular season schedule, 16 of those will be against those pesky Eastern foes... including three against the juggernaut Lightning.
