Capitals vs Sabres Third Period Thread

NHL: Washington Capitals at Buffalo Sabres Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

Alex Ovechkin cut the Sabres’ lead in half with an impressive breakaway goal after taking a long shift, but Rasmus Dahlin got one back for Buffalo on the power play with 30 seconds left in the period. Sabres up 3-1 after 40.

Other big news from the second period was the injury to Jeff Skinner. Carl Hagelin tripped him up in the Caps’ zone and Skinner fell to the ice in clear and immense pain. Replays showed a bad twist of his ankle, and he couldn’t put any weight on his left foot as he was helped off the ice and down the tunnel.

Here’s to hoping Skinner is okay, third period ahead...

Update: Jeff Skinner was on the ice to start the third period.
