The Noon Number: Friend, Not Foe

35 – Number of playoff games for Carl Hagelin against the Capitals over the course of his career, the most of any player since 2012.

That accounts for roughly 29% of his total playoff experience, which adds up to 121 games (also the most of any player over that span, and by a significant margin). He faced the Caps 21 times as a member of the Rangers, with three seven-game series in 2012, 2013, and 2015, then suited up for 14 with Pittsburgh as part of three-straight second-round meetings between the Caps and Penguins.

Hagelin has also been extra productive against his now-teammates during the postseason; he’s accumulated 47 playoff points over the course of his career, and almost a third of those have come against the Caps, with six goals and 15 points (including two three-point performances).

Here’s hoping Hagelin’s proclivity for production in Caps’ playoff games continues this spring for the good guys.
