A look at a relatively successful homestand

NHL: Los Angeles Kings at Washington Capitals Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

9 - Number of points earned by the Capitals on their recent six-game homestand, posting a record of 4-1-1 in those games. That’s their highest point total over a stretch of six-consecutive home games since they went 5-1-0 back in March of 1980.

In fact, the Caps have had five or more consecutive home games 34 times in franchise history and only twice have put together more points than on this most recent stretch, earning 10 points in a seven-game homestand back in March of 1992 (5-2-0) to tie a mark set 12 years prior.

Other than those two occurrences, the most points the Caps had ever earned in five or more games at home was eight, most recently with a 4-1-0 record back in late November/early December 2017.
