After Oscar Fantenberg gave the Kings their first lead of the contest in the second period’s opening minutes, Evgeny Kuznetzov responded to bring the Capitals back even at three apiece. The Caps scored goals in rapid succession courtesy of Christian Djoos’ first of the season on the weirdest goal you’ll ever see, and Jakub Vrana on some pretty passing to give Washington the 5-3 advantage.
