5 - Number of wins earned by Caps’ rookie netminder Ilya Samsonov through five starts (his lone loss of the season coming in relief of Braden Holtby against the Avalanche).

Samsonov is the first goalie in franchise history to win his first five starts, sliding past Jim Carey (who won five of his first six) and Semyon Varlamov (four of his first five). He’s also one of just six netminders in the last 40 years to put up as many as five wins through his first six appearances overall.
