Capitals vs. Blue Jackets Second Period Thread

It was pretty much all Columbus in the first period of this one. After getting on the board a minute in with a goal from Cam Atkinson, the Blue Jackets controlled the ice for almost the entire period. The Capitals looked sleepy and didn’t have a solid shift until close to the seven minute mark. Even though they picked things up, Joonas Korpisalo looked great in net for the Jackets and stopped every shot he faced, keeping the score at 1-0 Columbus.

Here’s to hoping the Caps put more consistent energy in their game after intermission and that the Great 8 returns to the ice.
