The Noon Number: Road Warriors

A look at how the Caps have fared away from the friendly confines of home

NHL: Washington Capitals at Boston Bruins Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

30 - Number of points earned by the Capitals on the road so far this season, tied for third-most in the League. In 22 road games this season the Caps are 14-6-2; against the Eastern Conference it’s even better, with a 9-2-1 road record against the East - tied for second-most points with the Islanders and trailing Columbus by one, but with a better points percentage (.792) than either.

Last night’s win in Boston not only improved their road record (and extended their streak of dominance over the Bruins to 14 games) but it also marked the seventh time in the last nine road games in which the Caps have allowed two or fewer goals. No team in the East has more road wins when allowing two or fewer goals than the Caps (10, tied with the Islanders) and only the Flames have more overall with 11.
