.677 - The Capitals regular-season points percentage during Barry Trotz’s four year tenure as their head coach, the highest of any coach in franchise history. In 328 games behind the Caps’ bench, Trotz racked up an impressive record of 205-89-34 en route to two Presidents’ Trophies and three consecutive Metropolitan Division titles.
He also remains the only coach in team history to have a postseason record above .500, finishing with a playoff record of 36-27 in a franchise-high 63 games... and of course, the only coach to lead a Capitals team to a Stanley Cup.
Thank you for everything, Barry. It’s been a hell of a ride.
