Capitals-Lightning: By the Numbers

And so it’s set.

Capitals vs. Lightning. Red, white, and blue vs. blue and white. A clash between former Southeast Division rivals, and the third playoff meeting between these two franchises – with the Caps looking for their first series win. Alex Ovechkin and his hot stick. Peter Bondra and his five goals. Scott Hannan’s infamous(ly bad) line change. Martin St. Louis in triple OT.

Ovechkin vs. Steven Stamkos. Braden Holtby vs. Andrei Vasilevskiy. Evgeny Kuznetsov vs. Nikita Kucherov. A perennial Eastern Conference Finalist vs. a team making its first third-round appearance in two decades.
