A look at the Caps, the Penguins, and the rare 3-2 series lead

4 - Number of times, out of 11 postseason meetings total (including this year), that the Capitals have gone up 3-2 in a series against the Penguins - and the first time in 23 years.

That 1995 series was actually the third-straight in which the Caps took a 3-2 series lead, and in all three the Caps first went up 3-1. Two of those series ended in eventual Game 7 losses to Pittsburgh... but the middle one (the infamous 1994 series) saw the Caps emerge victorious in six games.
