14 – Number of points for John Carlson so far in this year’s playoffs, setting a new franchise record for points by a Caps’ defenseman in a single postseason run. Carlson’s previous high was 12 points, set in 2016, a mark he shared with Kevin Hatcher and Scott Stevens (each of whom hit that mark in 1988).
Carlson is now up to 49 career playoff points in 90 games played, with the chance to set a new franchise record in that department as well; currently the record is held by Calle Johansson, who earned 54 points in 95 career games, with Stevens right behind at 53 points (67 games).
