The Noon Number: Power Playoffs

29 – Number of power-play points earned by Capitals players so far this postseason, which leads the eight remaining playoff teams. San Jose currently sits in second, with a combined 25 points, followed by Boston (24) and Tampa Bay (21).

The Caps have benefited from a hugely successful power play overall since the start of the playoffs, leading the League with a 32.3% effective rate (10 goals on 31 power-play opportunities).

Among individual Caps, John Carlson leads the way with eight points on the power play, while Alex Ovechkin and T.J. Oshie share the power-play goal lead with three others. The Caps have five of the top-15 point producers with the extra man, with Nicklas Backstrom and Evgeny Kuznetsov joining Carlson, Ovechkin, and Oshie on the League leaderboard.
