A look at the Caps’ quietest goal scorer

3 - Number of consecutive seasons with at least 20 goals for Nicklas Backstrom, the longest such streak of his career. Backstrom picked up his 20th goal of the season in Monday’s win over the Blues, making him just one of three Caps to have hit that mark so far this year (alongside Alex Ovechkin, natch, and Evgeny Kuznetsov).

Backstrom now joins Ovechkin as the only two Caps to score 20 goals in each of the last three seasons, and is one of 42 players in the NHL to have done so. Since entering the League back in 2007-08, Backstrom has five 20-goal seasons under his belt and has moved into a tie with Alexander Semin for second-most on the team over that span.
