.909 – The cumulative save percentage for Braden Holtby in February over the course of his career. It has historically been his worst month by far, and the only month in which his save percentage drops below .916. In 54 games played (through six sets of February games), he’s faced 1543 shots and turned aside just 1403 of them.
So far this month, that trend is holding strong – and actually has gotten a bit worse, although the team in front of him isn’t helping much. He’s made six starts over the last three weeks (2-3-2 record) and is rocking a .876 save percentage, having given up 29 goals on 234 shots for a definitively un-Holtby-esque GAA of 4.48.
The good news? February is a short month… and it’s almost over. Here’s hoping he remembers to flip the calendar.
