A look at some recent lapses in locking things down

3 - Number of games this season in which the Capitals have led after two periods and lost, including last night, tied with Winnipeg for the most in the League.

One of the hallmarks of the team over the last handful of seasons has been their ability to hold a lead; the three blown third-period leads this season puts them one shy of their entire total over the previous four seasons combined, and one more than the past three seasons.

Of course, it is worth noting that no team has led after two periods over that span more than the Caps, who have done so 161 times over the past 4+ seasons - and are among the League leaders in that department again this season, tied with Toronto for third-most with 15 (12-3-0).
