The Noon Number: Net Positive

A look at how the Caps’ goalies have performed over the last six weeks

NHL: Preseason-St. Louis Blues at Washington Capitals Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

.927 - Combined save percentage for Braden Holtby and Pheonix Copley over the last 18 games, dating back to November 16. That’s the best save percentage for any goaltending duo/trio over that span, just edging out Dallas’s netminders at .926. Both goalies have picked up a shutout in that timeframe, with Copley earning his first career shutout against Ottawa last weekend and Holtby blanking the Blue Jackets back on 12/8.

Holtby’s individual save percentage since mid-November (.930) is also among the League’s best, second among goalies having played at least 10 games and trailing only Ben Bishop’s .933, while his even-strength save percentage of .943 is second to LA’s Cal Petersen (.949).
