54 - Number of regular-season goals scored by Alex Ovechkin in 2018, tops in the League and five ahead of second-place Patrik Laine. He is currently 14 goals ahead of his 2017 total, with three games remaining before the calendar flips to 2019.

If he maintains his lead, it will mark the sixth time in Ovechkin’s career in which he’s led the NHL in goals over a calendar year and is the 11th time he’s finished in the top five. It’s also the seventh year in which he’s accumulated at least 50 goals in a 12-month span, the first time since 2015.
