Capitals vs. Islanders Second Period Thread

After surrendering the first goal of the game to Valtteri Filppula just moments after puck drop, Washington retaliated as Tom Wilson continued his scoring streak, extending it to four straight contests in which he has found the twine.

It was a fast-moving first period with scant few stops for players and fans alike to catch their breath (or get some much-needed refreshments) but the Capitals and Islanders headed to the first intermission even at one apiece.
