Riding their first three-game winning streak of the season, the Caps welcomed the suddenly red-hot Red Wings to Capital One Arena for a post-Thanksgiving showdown hoping to extend the streak to four.

Here’s Friday evening’s Plus/Minus:

Plus: Tom Wilson. The hype surrounding his return has perhaps gone a bit overboard, but there’s no denying that he’s had a positive impact on the team so far – and he was fantastic tonight, picking up a goal and an assist while also pitching in with some stellar penalty killing.

Min: The start. It’s not that the Caps looked particularly bad to start the game, but they didn’t seem to be quite as locked in as they needed to be to overcome an early evening crowd stuck in a post-Thanksgiving stupor. Passes just off the mark, grade A chance that just missed, and giving up the first goal of the game… not a great way to get the hometown fans invested early on.
