The Noon Number: Lars and the Real Goals

A look at some recent damage done to his old squad

NHL: Washington Capitals at Montreal Canadiens Jean-Yves Ahern-USA TODAY Sports

.63 - Lars Eller’s points-per-game rate against the Canadiens since Montreal traded him to the Capitals prior to the 2016-17 season.

Eller has faced the Habs eight times since his Draft Day trade back in 2016, racking up four goals and five points in those eight meetings - but the bulk of that damage has occurred over the last three weeks, as he’s faced his old squad twice and scored three goals (including the overtime winner last night).

In fact, the only player to have dinged the Habs for more goals so far this season? His teammate, Alex Ovechkin, who has two in each of their first two meetings.
