They say you can’t go home again. Well, Justin Williams begs to differ.
The beloved veteran Capitals forward signed with the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday, inking a two-year deal worth $4.5 million AAV. That’s a significant raise for the winger, who made $3.25 million AAV for the Capitals and will be 36 years-old before the start of next season.
Williams returns to the franchise with which he won his first of three career Stanley Cups in 2006, and where he is still justly and deservedly well-beloved.
The move keeps Williams in the Capitals’ division, but out of their team photos, a net loss for the franchise.
Good luck in Carolina, J-Will! Keep up the captivating coiffing.
