A look at how the Caps turned the tide against the Division

.853 - The Capitals’ points percentage against Metropolitan Division teams since the start of 2017.

Beginning with a 5-0 win over the Blue Jackets on January 5 (a win that snapped the Jackets’ 16-game winning streak), the Caps have put together a record of 14-2-1 against Division opponents. In nine of those victories, the Caps scored at least four goals, including six straight in January, and outscored teams 58-24 (including five shutouts) over that span.

That’s a far cry from how the team began the year against the Metro... and a big reason why they’ve locked up their second-consecutive Division Title.
