15 – Number of shots on goal given up by the Capitals last night in their 1-0 win over New Jersey. That’s tied for the third-lowest shots-against total by any team in 2016-17; it’s also the fewest shots the Caps have allowed in a game this season, or any game since Barry Trotz took over behind the bench.
Since the 2005-06 campaign, the Caps have allowed 15 shots or fewer just seven times in the regular season, and until last night they hadn’t done so since giving up 11 shots on January 4, 2014 in Minnesota… a game they lost 5-3.
