  • Prospect updates:
  • The hockey seasons for Shane Gersich and Brian Pinho have come to a close as North Dakota and Providence each lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament. No word yet as to the Capitals’ plans for either of these prospects. Gersich is a rising junior; Pinho will be a senior if he stays in school.
  • Prospect defenseman Connor Hobbs continues his dominance into the Regina Pats’ postseason. His team is up two games to none over the Calgary Hitmen in the first round of the WHL playoffs. In two games played, he is 0-4-4, plus-4.
  • Conversely, the Caps prospect forward playing for the Hitmen, Beck Malenstyn, is having a less-optimal series with a stat line of 0-0-0, minus-6 in those two losses.

  • Lucas Johansen and the Kelowna Rockets are up 2-0 in their series against Garrett Pilon and the Kamloops Blazers. In two games, Johansen is 0-1-1, plus-1 and Pilon is 0-1-1, even.
