The Noon Number: The Full Sixty

A look at how the Caps have succeeded when jumping out in front - and some rare times that they’ve struggled

3 - Number of losses for the Capitals in games in which they led after two periods over the last season (one in regulation and two in overtime), second-fewest in the League over that span, to go along with the second-most wins when leading heading into the third (71, one behind Pittsburgh's 72).

Of significant note, all three of those losses have come against tonight's opponent, the Columbus Blue Jackets, on January 2 and November 15 and 20, 2016. But fear not - the last time these two teams met, the Caps held on to beat the Jackets after jumping out to a 4-0 lead after forty minutes.
