The Noon Number: Back-to-Back Slack

-10 – The Capitals’ goal differential in the second half of back-to-back games so far this season, with opponents putting up 19 goals (including a whopping eight in Philly back in mid-October) to the Caps’ nine. They have just one win in the second of two games in two nights, going 1-4 overall.

The Caps will look to improve upon that trend as they take on the visiting Avalanche tonight to wrap up their sixth set of back-to-back games. This will mark only the second of those six in which Game #2 is at home (the last time being back on 10/21 against the Panthers), and the first time this year that they’ve dropped Game #1 of the set – they’ve outscored opponents 21-13 in the first of back-to-backs, including last night’s loss in Brooklyn.
