NHL: Stanley Cup Playoffs-Pittsburgh Penguins at Washington Capitals Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

.417 - The Capitals’ winning percentage in season-openers since the 2005-06 season (5-5-2). The Caps have started on the road in eight of those 12 seasons, with three of their four wins over that span coming on home ice.

That said, they also have a points percentage of .500 in those 12 openers, and have picked up points in their last three, with both losses coming via the shootout.
