The Capitals have won six-straight at Verizon Center (outscoring opponents 29-8 and posting three shutouts along the way), and their 18 home wins on the season is second-most in the NHL (Pittsburgh, 19).
The Wizards, meanwhile, have won 13 in-a-row on their home court (their longest such streak since 1989), and their 18 home wins are also second-most in their league (Golden State, 20).
Not a bad way to kick off the new year in the nation’s capital…
