The Noon Number: Pens Pal

A look at the latest Penguin-killer on the Caps’ roster

1.14 - Points per regular-season game for T.J. Oshie against the Penguins since joining the Capitals last season, his third-highest rate against an opponent (and highest among any team he’s faced more than four times over the past two seasons). That’s a huge jump from his career rate of .33 prior to arriving in DC, when he managed just a goal and two assists in nine career games vs. the Pens while in St. Louis.

In seven regular-season meetings with Pittsburgh over the last two seasons, Oshie has accumulated five goals and three assists - with another five goals (including his first career postseason hat trick) and a helper in six playoff games against them last spring.

Always good to have another Penguin-killer on the team...
