A look at some top-end talent on the Caps' roster

14 - Number of days remaining until the 2016-17 season. But it's also...

...the number of first-round picks on the Caps' parent roster. Of those 14, eight of them - Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom, Karl Alzner, John Carlson, Andre Burakovsky, Marcus Johansson, Evgeny Kuznetsov, and Tom Wilson - were selected and developed by the Caps' organization.

The group is rounded out by T.J. Oshie (STL), Brett Connolly (TBL), Lars Eller (STL), Justin Williams (PHI), Matt Niskanen (DAL), and Brooks Orpik (PIT).
