The Capitals have re-signed Dmitry Orlov to a one-year, $2.57 million deal, the team announced Wednesday.
Earlier reports indicated that Orlov was likely to sign a new deal soon. It's around a $300,000 raise from his deal last year, and the team will have just shy of $900,000 to work with this season. Fellow defensemen Karl Alzner and Nate Schmidt will also be free agents next July (Alzner will be unrestricted, Schmidt will be restricted like Orlov).
