According to TSN’s Gord Miller, the Washington Capitals have signed Brett Connolly.

Connolly, a former sixth-overall pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning, scored nine goals and recorded 16 assists in 71 games with the Boston Bruins last season, setting a career high in points in a single season.
Connolly, 24, played primarily Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand just last season. He was not given a qualifying offer earlier this week, making him an unrestricted free agent.
Connolly has respectable possession numbers. He would likely fill in as a third line player for Washington, and can certainly add a bit of speed and potential that third line.
What do you think of the signing?
