1. Penguins netminder Matt Murray has a 6-2-0/1.96/.937 line in the playoffs, including 47-for-49 and 34-for-36 efforts in stealing Pittsburgh a couple of victories this series. You’d think that would earn him a little slack when he has a single off night, as he did in Game 5 Saturday night (statistically, at least, and even then it’s a bit of a stretch).
You’d be wrong:

Would Mike Sullivan really go to Marc-Andre Fleury, who hasn’t played since March, for Game 6? It seems unlikely (far more likely, these are just click-baiting headlines and sports radio/chat room fodder, a byproduct of an extra day off between Games 5 and 6). But the question is certainly out there, and it’s the Caps’ job to keep it there.
Barry Trotz on potential change of goalie by #Penguins for Game 6. “It means we must be doing something right if they’re looking to change.”

2. A goal and an assist later and Alex Ovechkin is good once again. Amazing.
During Bolts/Isles intermission, Mike Milbury said Alex Ovechkin’s game vs. Penguins in second round “is the best I’ve ever seen him play.”

3. Congrats to former Caps bench boss Bruce Boudreau on finding a new gig so unsurprisingly quickly.
