The Capitals' power play got things going early, as Alex Ovechkin fired home an utter bomb from his usual office. It was his 13th career playoff PPG, tying Peter Bondra for the most in Capitals history.

Just a few minutes later on a power play of their own, the Penguins tied the game as Chris Kunitz stuffed home some garbage. It was Pittsburgh's first power play goal of the series.
