Japers' Rink Radio Episode 4: Talking Goalies

New, comments

Braden Holtby tied the NHL record for wins in a single season by a goaltender but is he worthy of the Veizna?

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

First off, we are now on iTunes, so listening to us just got a lot easier!

As for this episode, we're joined by goalie guru, Hockey Graphs writer and creator of Adjusted Goals Saved Above Average (adjGSAA), Nick Mercadante. We spend the first part of the episode focusing on Braden Holtby, Matt Murray and Michal Neuvirth, and later try to answer one of hockey's great questions: are the Capitals always running into "hot goalies" or are they doing something to boost the save percentage of their opponents?

The graph below helps provide a visual to some of the things that we touch on during the episode regarding Holtby's play throughout the season, so give it a listen and let us know what you think.

You can interact with us on Twitter (@JapersRinkRadio or @Stringhama), on Facebook, via email (JapersRinkRadio@gmail.com), or in the comments below. Our goal is to have our listeners as involved as possible so if you have any questions feel free to send them our way and we will talk about them on the next show!
