The Noon Number: Needs More Voltage

11.1 – The Caps’ power-play efficiency since the NHL’s All-Star break, fourth-lowest in the League. Since January 27, the Caps had 45 opportunities with the extra man and have scored just five power-play goals in those 12 games (a stretch which included a five-game drought that would be six and make these numbers look even worse if you ignore the man-up empty-net tally in Nashville).

The good news? They’re five-for-28 over their last seven games for a more respectable rate of 17.9%, and still lead the League in power-play efficiency.

The better news? They’re 10-1-1 since the mid-winter break.
