His late third-period tally on Saturday against the Devils was the first time he’s scored a game-winner in a regular season outing, and just the second ever including playoffs (he scored the overtime series-clincher for Pittsburgh against the Islanders back in 2013).
Saturday night’s offensive explosion from #44 also marked his second goal of the season, which ties his career high, and was just the third game with a goal and an assist in his career – the first since he did it twice in about six weeks in 2008.
