Nicklas Backstrom, Braden Holtby Named to 2016 NHL All-Star Game

The Caps' center and goalie are headed to Nashville at the end of the month, along with their coach and captain

Per the NHL, the Caps will have three representatives in Nashville in a few weeks, as  Nicklas Backstrom and Braden Holtby will join Caps' - and Metropolitan Division team - captain Alex Ovechkin at this year's All-Star festivities.

This will be the first All-Star Game for both (which is rather shocking in Backstrom's case), but well-deserved honors for each. Backstrom is currently ahead of Ovechkin in scoring with 35 points (although both trail Kuznetsov's 37), while Holtby is riding a 19-game personal point streak and hasn't lost in regulation since November 10.

Also joining the Caps' trio will be head coach Barry Trotz, who will be behind the bench for the Metropolitan Division.
