49 - Sweater number that Stanislav Galiev, recalled earlier today, will wear for the Capitals. He'll be just the second player in history to wear that number, joining Dwayne Zinger, who got seven games for the firesale club of 2003-04.
More on Galiev (who barely cracked our Top-25 Under 25 last summer) from the Caps:
Galiev, 23, registered 45 points (25 goals, 20 assists) in 64 games with Hershey this season. The Moscow native has set career highs in goals, assists and points this season, leads the AHL in power-play goals (15) and ranks first among Bears skaters in goals. Galiev recorded a career-high six game point streak from Feb. 6-15 (five goals, four assists) and has tallied 10 multi-point games this season. The 6’1", 187-pound right wing has earned 52 points (28 goals, 24 assists) in 97 career AHL games. Galiev was selected by Washington in the third round, 86th overall, in the 2010 NHL Draft.
